Baby Shock

Ryan and I are having a baby! It is the craziest thing but one of the coolest. We have had the joy of the last 21 weeks to see a baby develop. We went to our first OB appointment 12/8/2008 and found out that we would be proud parents of a baby born on July, 11, 2009. Our next appointment we were able to hear the heart beat and then we finally reached the fourth visit on 3/2/2009 where we were able to see it. We both agreed it is the most ADORABLE baby every created. We might be a little bias. It had the right number of long bones, all 4 chambers of the heart with two valves, 2 kidneys, its spinal cord was intact and closed, and its brain was great. Everything was perfect. My belly has grown slightly but most days I could still pass for a slightly chubby lady...I think that it all depends on the clothes. I am going to have another ultrasound at 28 weeks because due to a low lying placenta. My OB was not to concerned because the majority of times it grows with the uterus and gets out of the way if not I might have to have a c-section. We will just have to wait and find out.

The Longest Weekend Ever

This weekend was full of excitement. Ryan finally finished up his master classes on Thursday evening so we had decided we would have a weekend just for us...and of course baby Shock. Saturday morning we woke-up bright and early to head to Ikea in Canton, MI to go shopping for the babies room. We had the crib already picked out but we needed to look around for the chest-of-drawers and some bedside tables. We arrived at Ikea and started shopping finding everything we wanted so we head to the warehouse. Out of the 4 large items that we had picked out only 1 was available. Since we were unable to get the crib at Ikea we went down the road to Target. We shopped around a little and found the perfect crib, and come to find out they did not have it in stock. So to say the least we were SLIGHTLY frustrated having diven 2.5 hours and arriving back in Angola with only a few draw organizers, hangers, and chest-of-drawers. After a few calls to local Target stores we located the crib we wished for. This morning we woke-up what we thought was bright and early (8:30 due to the time change) and headed off to Ft. Wayne. We went into the store and after many anxious thoughts it arrived in the customer service area were we purchased it. Finally we had a beautiful crib, for our precious baby. We made the trip home and assembled the crib and placed the bedding on it and boy does it look great. It was worth all the hassle because we have the best nursery ever now!

Baby Shock has been quiet the past few days. When the baby does awake though it becomes VERY roudy and likes to kick, hit, and head bang into my pelvis.

This week is Ryan's spring break. He is looking forward to some much needed R&R but of course already has huge plans with what he is going to do with his time. However, I think that the rain might put a damper on his outside activities.
